Eastchester Middle SchoolThe Eastchester Middle School is seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant for a full-time position,specifically working with students who access our Functional Support Program. The successful candidate will possess a valid New York State Teaching Assistant Certification and have a passion for supporting the educational and social/emotional development of middle school-aged learners.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to provide instructional support students in grades 6-8
- Assist in the implementation of lesson plans and learning activities under the guidance of the classroom teacher.
- Work one-on-one or in small groups with students, reinforcing instruction and providing additional support as needed.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes student engagement and success.
- Assist in the management of classroom behavior and support the implementation of positive behavior interventions.
- Collaborate with other support staff and professionals to address the diverse needs of students.
- Provide feedback to classroom teachers regarding student progress and challenges.
Qualifications:- New York State Teaching Assistant Certification.
- Previous experience working with 7th-grade or middle school students.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Patience, flexibility, and a genuine desire to make a positive impact on students' lives.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other educational professionals.
- Understanding of and commitment to maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment.

- NYSED Fingerprint Clearance*
Employment Terms:- 10-month, probationary position
- Base Salary range in accordance with the Eastchester Teachers Association (ETA) negotiated salary schedule: $30,077-$43,458
*Fingerprint Clearance: SAVE Law: Effective July 1, 2001, Education Law §§305(30), 3004-b, 3004-c and 3035, as amended by Chapter 180 of the Laws of 2000, and Part 87 of the Commissioner's Regulations require the Commissioner of Education to request a fingerprint-supported criminal history background check for applicants for certification as well as for prospective employees of school districts, charter schools and boards of cooperative educational services (BOCES). The Commissioner of Education carries out these responsibilities through the New York State Education Department's Office of School Personnel Review and Accountability (OSPRA).
