Job description

Position: 0.90 FTE Teaching Assistant (multiple positions available)

Location: Finger Lakes Technical and Career Center (FLTCC), Stanley, NY 14561

Responsibilities

• Work with a diverse population of students.
• Support students to ensure a safe, orderly environment conducive to teaching and learning.
• Implement specialized instruction to students.
• Collaborate with colleagues and assist teacher to meet student learning needs.
• Communicate regularly and effectively with stakeholders.
• Assist with maintaining record keeping.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings.
• Promote equity and culturally responsive practices to create inclusive environments.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Only candidates who hold NYS Teaching Assistant certification will be considered.
• Certification required by the New York State Education Department – any person employed as a teaching assistant shall hold a temporary license, continuing certificate, or a Level I, II, III or Pre-Professional certificate. If an individual holds a teaching, pupil personnel, or administrative certificate, a temporary license or certificate is not required unless stipulated by the employing district.
• Essential elements of the position may require specialized knowledge and/or experience in the field and/or trade subject. Depending on the course there may be a requirement of successful completion of specialized training and/or safety certifications.
