Job summary

The role involves providing instructional services under teacher supervision, assisting with instructional materials and health-related activities, and supporting behavior management and examination proctoring as needed.

Responsibilities

• Works with individual students or groups of students on special instructional projects.
• Provides the teacher with information about students which will assist the teacher in the development of appropriate learning and behavioral experiences.
• Assists students in the use of available instructional resources, and assists in the development of instructional materials.
• Utilizes their own special skills and abilities by assisting in instructional programs in such areas as: foreign language, art, crafts, music and similar subjects.
• Assists in related instructional work as required; and
• Assists students with specific health related activities as appropriate.
• Assists students with behavioral/management needs including but not limited to implementing behavioral plans, employing de-escalation strategies, engaging in physical restraints;
• Assists in proctoring and other tasks related to the administration of examinations;
• Assists in correcting test papers, recording of grades, maintaining of files and preparing of statistical reports;
• Assists as needed with general supervision/monitoring of students, health care, behavioral work
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum starting salary $19.83, actual salary based on education and experience pursuant to the wage schedule posted on the district’s website.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides instructional services under the supervision of a teacher.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Significant standing; some walking, moving, climbing, carrying, bending, kneeling, crawling, reaching, handling, pushing, and pulling. Must have the ability to lift 60 lbs.
