Job summary

Graham School in Mount Vernon, NY is seeking seven Teaching Assistants to support licensed teachers across instructional programs. You will assist with lesson preparation, materials setup and small-group instruction under supervision.

Responsibilities include tracking attendance, reinforcing learning, supervising activities, and helping maintain safe, organized classrooms. Certification is required; a college or associate degree is preferred. Immediate start and full-time hours.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Teacher Assistant.

Responsibilities

• Help teachers prepare lesson plans
• Set up necessary material for classes
• Track student attendance and class schedules
• Review material taught in class with students with learning challenges
• Work with smaller groups of students for remedial teaching
• Escort and supervise students on field trips and school activities
• Make sure classrooms are safe and tidy before classes start
• Assist teachers with grading and informing parents of their children’s progress
• Help students adjust, learn and socialize and report to teachers about possible behavioral issues
