Responsibilities

• Assists individual pupils in need of special attention and guides independent study under the teacher's direction.
• Assists the teacher with non-instructional classroom duties, such as snacks, bathroom and clothing routines.
• Checks notebooks and homework assignments and helps with remediation as directed.
• Assists in supervision of testing and reading groups, including storytelling and library work.
• Participates in in-service training and assumes duties as directed by the teacher or principal.
• Supports classroom management and learning environment under supervision of a certified teacher.
