Duties: Putnam/Northern Westchester BOCES anticipates the need for a part-time Bilingual Teaching Assistant for a summer program in Westchester County from July 5th through July 28th (Monday-Thursday only). The program will immerse students in the Mandarin language. Candidates must be able to work with students of all ability levels and inspire a love of learning the Mandarin language.Qualifications: Candidates must possess valid New York State Teaching Assistant certification and be fluent in the use of Mandarin, both orally and in written form. Prior instructional experience in the delivery of Mandarin language skills highly preferred.Characteristics Desired: Must have a positive, can-do attitude, with an ability to immerse Mandarin language instruction into existing school curriculum by working collaboratively with instructional staff in a classroom setting. Must have the ability to deliver program goals and objectives, and must possess a commitment to the BOCES mission of Service and Innovation through Partnership.
