Northbridge University is seeking a part-time Teaching Assistant at the DAVE School Campus in Orlando, FL. The role supports the Instructor in preparing students for the digital animation and visual effects industry, assisting with curriculum, and maintaining high classroom standards.

The Teaching Assistant will tutor students, supervise lab work, monitor projects and attendance, and contribute to a positive learning environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Provide feedback on curriculum effectiveness.
  • Contribute to curriculum revision as needed.
  • Tutor students after lectures on software, theory, history, technique and aesthetics.
  • Supervise students’ lab work and monitor project progress.
  • Maintain grade records and assist with attendance tracking.
  • Support classroom management and student discipline as needed.
  • Foster a productive and positive learning environment.
  • Monitor student progress and identify potential problems; report to Instructor.
  • Offer critiques and feedback during class sessions.
  • Attend guest lectures and support in-service trainings.

At Northbridge University, we are looking for a Teaching Assistant! The Teaching Assistant is charged with supporting the Instructor in the training and preparation of students to work in the digital animation and visual effects industry. As this industry is very competitive and requires a highly skilled work force, the Teaching Assistant must aid the Instructor in maintaining high standards of performance within the class.



  • Proficiency with one of more software packages utilized by the school

  • Strong and demonstrated aptitude for instruction

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Self-motivated and creative


Responsibilities:


  • Providing feedback on curriculum effectiveness

  • Providing input into the curriculum revision process as necessary


Classroom


  • Tutoring students following lectures on software, theory, history, technique, and aesthetics

  • Supervision of students’ lab work

  • Project and deadline monitoring and assistanceGrade recordkeeping assistance

  • Daily attendance recording and reporting

  • Assisting with classroom control and student discipline

  • Fostering a classroom environment that is productive and positive

  • Student progress monitoring

  • Monitoring potential problems as evidenced by poor attendance, lack of progress or failure to benefit from the program; and reporting them to the Instructor

  • Offering critiques and opinions as appropriate

  • Attending guest speaker in-service lectures

was founded on June 8, 2000, by two Industry executives looking to create #CareerReady artists with practical animation skills. They created a school that offered specialized training in Visual Effects with extensive practice under industry-level supervision. The Game Production program followed 13 years later in September of 2014, making it the second program to be offered by the school.
