Role Description

This is a part-time on-site role for a Teaching Assistant located in Front Royal, VA. The Teaching Assistant will be responsible for assisting teachers with filling the role of Montessori Assistant in a classroom of 3rd and 4th graders. The assistant will also lead book club discussions, work with students in spelling tests, and also teach a math class in addition to other duties. The school year is 33 weeks and the hours will be M-F 8am - 1pm. Training is available. The ideal candidate will have some familiarity of the Montessori method as well as Classical education. He or she will have an innate love of learning and will have a desire to inspire children to pursue learning as well.

Qualifications

• Assistant Teaching, Education, and Working With Children skills
• Strong Communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with students, teachers, and parents
• Proficiency in Mathematics and the ability to assist students in understanding mathematical concepts
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
• Experience working in an educational environment is a plus
• Patience with children is necessary
• Ability and desire to work as a team and collaborate with the Lead teacher and other staff is required
