Job description

Summary

Infant/Toddler teachers are responsible for the supervision of up to 8 children ages 6 weeks to 36 months. Teachers work with an assistant teacher.


Preschool teachers are responsible for the supervision of up to 20 children ages 3 to 5 years.


Duties

Responsibilities include:

  • Using positive discipline techniques to support independence, self-regulation, and social skills
  • Supporting children in developing self-help skills
  • Record keeping
  • Communicating with families
  • Maintaining confidentiality
  • Maintaining conduct and professionalism
  • Maintaining a safe, learning environment
  • Creating a curriculum that supports children's growth and development in alignment with the CTELDS
  • Assessing children's growth and development in alignment with the CTDOTS
  • Maintaining required certifications - CPR/First Aid, Medication Administration, Background checks, CT Charts-A-Course Registry, current statement of good health, Covid vaccinated
  • Demonstrating reliability and punctuality

Requirements

Teachers must be at least 18 years old with at least 12 ECE credits.

Teachers working in a NAEYC Accredited center must also have earned a BA/BS in ECE, Child Study, Child Development, or a related field.

Evidence of experience working with young children, preferably 3 references.

Reliable transportation.

Ability to SMILE: Smile, Make others feel special, provide Information, Listen, Engage with children.


Benefits
