The Bancroft School is currently looking for Teacher Assistants/Aides in Mt Laurel NJ. In this role, you'll support children with autism and disabilities and empower them to realize their best life.

About The Bancroft School:

The Bancroft School is a unique educational program that aims to empower students with autism by providing teachable moments throughout their day. It includes traditional academic subjects, daily living and social skills, art and music, Adaptive Physical Education, Enrichment activities, and an activity pool for water safety, swim instruction, and recreation.

Position Summary:

The ideal candidate will provide essential support to the classroom teacher in implementing educational programs, managing student behavior, and ensuring a positive and inclusive learning environment for students with special needs.

Responsibilities
  • Assist Classroom Teacher: Collaborate to implement IEPs and instructional activities tailored to students' needs.
  • Student Support: Provide direct assistance in academic, behavioral, and personal care activities.
  • Classroom Management: Maintain a positive, structured environment, promote social skills, and foster inclusivity.
  • Instructional Support: Reinforce lessons, work with students or small groups, and adapt materials as needed.
  • Data Collection and Monitoring: Document student progress and behavior, communicate observations.
  • Collaboration: Work with the educational team to ensure effective service delivery.
  • Personal Care: Assist with toileting, feeding, and mobility as required.
  • Professional Development: Participate in training to enhance skills related to special education.
Qualifications
  • NJ DOE Substitute Teacher Certification
