Job description

SCOPE OF POSITION
The Teacher's Assistant is to assist the teacher in providing a warm and nurturing environment in which the child can grow physically, emotionally, socially, and intellectually. To help implement planned activities geared to the developmental needs of a particular group of children and to channel productively the interests and energies of these children. To be aware of and attend to the needs of individual children. To work closely with the classroom teacher to implement daily planned classroom activities. To maintain a clean, organized, healthy, and safe classroom environment.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Any combination of training and experience that will enable the caregiver to perform the above requirements. Must possess a clear, working understanding of Developmentally Appropriate Practice in Early Childhood. A Degree of Child Development Associate is preferred. Must be 18 years of age or older. Willingness to receive training as required by the appropriate state's grading system to maintain this position. BLS Certification required.
