Job summary

Capstone Adaptive Learning and Therapy Centers, Inc. in Milton, FL is seeking a VPK Teacher for our Milton Child Care Center.

The teacher will plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities to meet the social, intellectual, emotional and physical needs of VPK children and prepare them for kindergarten. Responsibilities include daily schedules, progress assessment, positive guidance, and ensuring materials and safety standards are met.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years or more of child care experience.
• Must possess or be actively pursuing the 40 hour child development certificate.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Must pass DCF background screening.

Job description

Capstone Adaptive Learning and Therapy is seeking a Teacher - VPK for our Milton Child Care Center located in Milton, Florida.

The VPK Teacher is responsible for the planning and implementation of a program to meet the social, intellectual, emotional and physical needs of young VPK children and for preparing the children for a successful kindergarten experience. Plans, prepares, assesses and carries out classroom activities developmentally appropriate and meet the state mandated VPK standards; including a daily schedule. Assists children constantly throughout their daily activities with positive comments and encouragement to change behavior; gives each child individual attention; respects individual differences. Ensures that all materials needed for activities are available and ready to use. Responsible for all direct care, health and safety duties for each child.

Requirements

Degree in Child Development or related field or a CDA or equivalent. Three (3) years or more of child care experience and some child development course work may be substituted for the degree. Must possess or be actively pursuing the 40 hour child development certificate. Must have effective oral and written communication skills. Supervisory experience preferred. Must pass DCF background screening.
