The Bethel School District is seeking teacher applicants who have the potential to be leaders and innovative educators. Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to deliver instruction based upon best available research and practices in teaching and learning.
General Summary
The Title I/LAP Basic Skills position is a master teacher with excellent instructional and communication skills that provides assistance to district Title I & LAP staff with fully implementing effective and compliant programs; work with district teachers and para-educators in the development and implementation of performance learning and assessment, content frameworks,and modifications and accommodations to meet the needs of diverse learners; assess staff development needs and coordinate and present on-site and district level staff training to meet these identified needs; assist in program development, preparation of applications and budgets, program reviews, and resource allocations.
Minimum Qualifications
Washington State teaching credential with appropriate endorsement(s): ELEMENTARY K-8
Masters degree preferred.
Demonstrate desire and ability to work and communicate effectively with staff students and parents from diverse backgrounds.
Essential Functions
- Comply with all guidelines and regulations by state and federal Title I/LAP policies and laws. Related to At Risk Student Intervention program (1) Analyze existing student achievement data and administer student assessment and progress monitoring of students receiving intervention instruction/services; (2) Coordinate and plan student intervention program aligned to state and local learning standards. Collaborate with classroom teachers, building administrators, director, and parents when designing the learning program to support reading/math services provided to identified students; (3) Facilitate parent involvement activities building school to home connections for learning, that support our Title I/LAP programs;
- Maintain accurate student records, parent communications records and student progress data reports;
- Attend professional development opportunities that promote improved instructional strategies and researched based resource materials needed to implement the intervention program successfully and support professional growth;
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Support Services.
- Keep in confidence all personal, student or personnel records and information.
- Model lessons and co-teach to increase educator instructional expertise to effectively impact literacy outcomes for program struggling students to meet ELA standards
Education and Experience
Must meet job specific Washington State and federal learning standards.

Licenses/Special Requirements
Successful clearance of criminal justice fingerprint and background check.

CONDITIONS
Required to deal with a wide range of student achievement and behavior. May experience frequent interruptions and must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. May be required to deal with distraught students/parents/staff: may be exposed to infectious diseases.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, and operate a computer, as well as hand-held learning devices and other office equipment. This position is active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing and reaching throughout the day. The employee will use frequently use repetitive arm/hand motion and must occasionally lift and/or move items over 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee may climb stairs or ride in elevators, depending on the worksite.
