Bachelor’s degree in related field
Valid Texas certificate in the field of visually impaired
Ability to work effectively with school and community
Experience in providing instruction to students with visual impairments
Valid driver’s license
The mission of this role:
Provide instructional services to meet the needs of eligible students identified as students with a visual impairment.
What success looks like for this role:
Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, pushing, and pulling. Move small stacks of textbooks, media equipment, desks, and other classroom or adaptive equipment. May be required to lift and position students with physical disabilities; control behavior through physical restraint; and assist non-ambulatory students. Exposure to biological hazards. Daily driving in the district from one campus to another.
