• Collaborate with teachers and related service staff to develop PLAAFP’s and annual goals/objectives for IEP’s
• Administer criterion referenced testing, district and state testing as appropriate
• Stay current on educational practices and apply new instructional and behavior strategies as appropriate
• Oversee the responsibilities of the paraprofessional in implementing student programs, to include training regarding data collection and implementation of specific instructional strategies
• Collect and maintain data related to student progress and grades
• Report progress on IEP goals/objectives and grades as stipulated by district policy & ARD documents
• Communicate regularly with general education teachers and parents/guardians regarding student progress/needs/concerns
• Maintain confidential student records and audit folders
• Attend district required, job specific trainings and staff development
• Obtain and maintain certification in the CPI Non-Violent Crisis Intervention
• Provide direct instruction in social and behavioral skills according to students’ targeted behavior goals
• Other SHARS Duties as assigned
• Provide Personal Care as identified in applicable student IEPs

The mission of this role :

Provides special education consultation and instruction to meet the academic & behavioral needs of eligible students with disabilities. Communicate with campus staff, district special education staff, and parents/guardians information pertaining to student needs (such as but not exclusively: ARD paperwork, IEP’s, FBA, BIP & data collection).

What success looks like for this role :

• Prepare documents and attend ARD/IEP meetings for students eligible for special education.
• Complete local, state and federal paperwork required for program participation.
• Collaborate with teachers and related service staff to develop PLAAFP’s and annual goals/objectives for IEP’s.

• Attend district required, job specific trainings and staff development, (including behavior, specific content areas, structured environments and District AB collaborative meetings)
• Obtain and maintain certification in the CPI Non-Violent Crisis Intervention.
• Provide direct instruction in social and behavioral skills according to students’ targeted behavior goals.
• Other SHARS Duties as assigned.
• Provide Personal Care as identified in applicable student IEPs.

Workplace operational environment to include :

Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, pushing, and pulling; occasional running, heavy lifting and carrying, 45 pounds and over daily, positioning of students, moving classroom or adaptive equipment, noise exposure, biological exposure to bacteria and communicable diseases; exposure to physical and verbal outbursts by students.
