  • 50 FTE SERT Position & 0.50 FTE EBD Position

Summary: Provide quality instruction aligned to state and national standards. Use a variety of assessment strategies to inform instructional decisions and increase student self-management of learning. Engage students in inquiry-based learning tasks. May work as part of the campus STEM team to ensure integrated instruction.

Essential Functions:

  • Implement Minnesota State Standards and District Graduation Requirements; apply knowledge of subject matter, classroom management, best practices, and students' learning styles and needs.
  • Teach curricula using strategies that foster thinking, reasoning, and problem solving.
  • Collaborate with peers to develop and implement best practices based on student needs.
  • Assess students' developmental, cognitive, and social needs; provide appropriate instruction.
  • Create safe, respectful, engaging, and inclusive learning environments.
  • Communicate regularly with families and utilize community resources to support learning.

Support district and school goals, and participate in professional development.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university.
  • Successful student teaching or teaching experience in an urban, multicultural setting.
  • Continued professional development through coursework, research, collaboration, or staff development.
  • Master's or PhD preferred.

License and Certification: Valid Minnesota teaching license for Learning Disabilities, Emotional Behavioral Disabilities, or Academic and Behavioral Strategist, or proof of pending licensure.
