Qualifications

• License and Certification: Meets Georgia certification requirements in appropriate field of education.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in applicable field from a PSC-approved college or university.
• Experience: Previous teaching experience preferred.
• Skills: Knowledge of GCPS AKS curriculum, effective instructional practices, technology integration, strong communication and human relations skills.

Primary Responsibilities

Plan and deliver instruction based on district AKS curriculum, creating an environment conducive to students' intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development. Responsibilities include:

1. Demonstrate command of the subject matter.
2. Develop instructional objectives and lesson plans.
3. Select and modify resources and activities.
4. Communicate learning objectives and link content to students’ backgrounds.
5. Organize content and utilize effective instructional strategies.
6. Assess student learning and adjust instruction accordingly.
7. Maintain a productive learning environment and manage behavior.
8. Participate in professional growth activities.
9. Maintain professional responsibilities and act as a role model.
10. Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands

Requires sitting, talking, hearing, standing, walking, handling, reaching, occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, and lifting up to 25 pounds. Vision abilities include close, distance, color, and depth perception. Accommodations available as needed.
