Chesterfield County Public Schools is seeking a Trade and Industrial Education teacher to join their team for the 2026-27 school year. The role involves teaching essential skills in electricity and collaborating with industry partners.

This is for the 2026-27 school year. Plans, delivers and evaluates instruction based upon specific standards and objectives established by CCPS, for the discipline of trade and industrial education (Electricity - VDOE 8533, 8534, 8535). Assists students in learning knowledge and skills that will contribute to their development as mature, able and responsible citizens. Performs in compliance with instructional program guidelines and legal requirements of trade and industrial education curriculum and the aligned career credential.

Maintains work‑based learning logs, grading and reporting of students mastery.
Uses standard office equipment and equipment related to education and industry specific equipment.
Contacts with all levels of CCPS personnel, various outside agencies, students, and parents.
Must have the ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time; exhibit manual dexterity to use a telephone, to enter data into a computer terminal; to see and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids; hear, understand speech and speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly at normal levels indoors and on the telephone. Frequent walking, standing, light lifting up to 50 pounds, and other limited physical activities are required. Occasional travel with students on field trips may be necessary. Daily personal and close contact with children to provide classroom management and learning environment support is required. Regular contact with other staff members and parents is required.
Duties performed typically in school settings to include classroom, gym, cafeteria, auditorium, and recreational areas. The noise level is quiet to moderate.
Knowledge of current residential and industrial electrical practices, tools, equipment, and techniques. Knowledge of local building and fire codes. Requires knowledge of the concepts, principles and methodologies of instruction. Requires general knowledge of academic curriculum for assigned classes. Demonstrated ability to develop instructional goals, to design and deliver instruction and to assess students' learning. Demonstrated ability to communicate with others effectively, both orally and in writing. Demonstrated ability in decision‑making, problem analysis, conflict resolution, interpersonal relationships, and planning.
Must hold or be eligible for a Virginia teaching license with an endorsement in the applicable subject area of Trade and Industrial Education (Electricity) with an associated industry credential. Must maintain First Aid, CPR & AED certification. Prior experience teaching career and technical education is preferred.
