Performance Responsibilities
  • Remain up to date regarding curriculum content.
  • Plan instruction effectively.
  • Plan assessment of student learning effectively.
  • Monitor students' understanding of the curriculum effectively and adjust instruction, materials, or assessments as appropriate.
  • Create a positive environment for student learning and involvement.
  • Maintain appropriate standards of behavior, mutual respect, and safety.
  • Make learning goals clear to students.
  • Use appropriate instructional techniques.
  • Use effective questioning techniques.
  • Evaluate and refine instructional strategies, including the use of technologies, to increase student learning and confidence.
  • Communicate learning goals and high standards to students.
  • Promote confidence and perseverance, encouraging students to take responsibility for achieving learning goals.
  • Ensure equitable opportunities for all students.
  • Demonstrate appreciation for and sensitivity to diversity.
  • Engage constructively with parents and value their contributions.
  • Share responsibility for school and district goals with colleagues and staff.
  • Be a reflective, continuous learner.
  • Comply with policies, agreements, and laws.

Requirements
  • Salary based on experience and education, per pay schedule in the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
  • Valid certification to teach in Massachusetts.
  • SEI endorsement/ESL licensure preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Experience with the relevant age group.
