The teacher shall create and maintain a classroom atmosphere that fosters high expectations and enthusiasm for learning by integrating critical thinking, application skills, interpersonal skills, and technology into an aligned curriculum and assessment process. This approach aims to achieve measurable student achievement gains in accordance with district and state standards.

ESSENTIAL PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assessment: Use assessment strategies (traditional and alternative) aligned with the curriculum and standards to support continuous learner development.
  • Communication: Use effective communication techniques with students, parents, and stakeholders.
  • Continuous Improvement: Engage in planned professional development for self and school improvement.
  • Critical Thinking: Employ strategies that promote and enhance students' critical, creative, and evaluative thinking skills.
  • Diversity: Utilize instructional strategies and materials that reflect students' cultures, learning styles, needs, and socio-economic backgrounds.
  • Ethics and Regulations: Fulfill contractual obligations, adhere to the code of ethics, and enforce federal, state, and district regulations.
  • Human Development and Learning: Use understanding of learning and development to create a positive learning environment supporting students' intellectual, personal, and social growth.
  • Knowledge of Subject Matter: Demonstrate thorough knowledge of the subject matter.
  • Learning Environments: Establish classroom management systems that maintain discipline and foster engagement, social interaction, cooperative learning, and self-motivation.
  • Planning: Plan, implement, and evaluate effective instruction and assessments across various learning environments.
  • Role of the Teacher: Collaborate with peers, parents, community, and stakeholders to improve student educational experiences.
  • Technology: Integrate appropriate technology into teaching and learning.
  • ESOL Requirement: Complete required training and obtain endorsement if assigned to LEP students.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain school records and submit reports as required by law and regulations.
  • Property: Account for school property and report to the principal or superintendent as prescribed.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Comply with equal employment policies, safety procedures, and perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
  • Appropriate Florida certification.
  • Required computer skills.
