Starting salary for teachers is $48,700. Additional referendum money is available for the next three years, starting at $5,400 for the 2025-26 school year. Teachers hired during the school year will receive a prorated supplement based on their hire date.

Job Summary

Guides the learning process toward curriculum goals, establishing clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects to communicate these to students. Uses a variety of instructional techniques and media, considering physical location limitations and the needs of students. Implements the District's educational philosophy and instructional goals through instruction and action.

Essential Functions

• Teaches assigned classes at designated times and locations.
• Plans lessons that meet the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students, and prepares accordingly.
• Creates a conducive learning environment suitable for students' maturity and interests.
• Supervises students to ensure safety and well-being, taking necessary precautions.
• Regularly assesses student progress and maintains accurate records.
• Diagnoses learning disabilities and collaborates with specialists as needed.
• Supports school policies on student conduct, developing classroom rules and maintaining order.
• Provides availability to students and parents outside instructional hours as needed.
• Supervises and evaluates teacher aides and volunteers.
• Attends staff meetings and participates in committees.
• Performs any other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
• No prior experience required.
• Eligible for Florida Department of Education Certification in the relevant subject area.
