Job summary

enCircle in Roanoke, VA is seeking a Science Teacher to educate students in a private day school setting. You will work with small classes, prepare weekly lessons, and assess progress to support positive growth in academics and life skills, in a supportive school community.

The role offers a competitive salary starting at $50,000 for 10 months and $60,000 for 12 months with experience-based increases, plus sign-on bonuses for licensed teachers, endorsements, and master's degree incentives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Teaching License with a Special Education endorsement OR content area endorsement.
• Safety-Care Certification (Training provided).
• Must have a valid Virginia Driver’s License, proof of insurance, satisfactory Driving Record.

Responsibilities

• Create and implement weekly lesson plans.
• Administer formal and informal assessments to measure student growth and mastery and to evaluate and refine instruction.
• Differentiate instruction effectively to meet the individual needs of students.
• Identify students who are academically at risk and initiate effective intervention strategies.
• Participate actively in professional development.
• Assist administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct, and develop reasonable classroom rules and procedures.
• Maintain accurate records as required by law and district policy.
• Attend and participate in Community School Committee and Advisory Committee meetings.

Our ScienceTeacherwill be responsible for teaching students in the private day school setting in Roanoke, VA. We are looking for motivated individuals that desire to effect positive change in young people’s lives. Minimum Education, Training, Requirements And Prerequisites

• Teaching License with a Special Education endorsement OR content area endorsement.
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Safety-Care Certification (Training provided).
• Must have a valid Virginia Drivers’ License, proof of insurance, satisfactory Driving Record (less than 5 demerit points).
• Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00AM-4:00PM.
• DRIVING SPECIFIC(The following list may or may not be all inclusive at time of posting):
• Must not have any of the following violations within the last 5 years:
• Reckless driving, including speeding 20mph or more over the posted speed limit.
• Driving under the influence/impaired/intoxicated or refusing a blood/breath test.
• Manslaughter or negligent homicide.
• Driving after being declared a habitual offender.
• Driving on a suspended or revoked license
• Driving a commercial motor vehicle while disqualified, under the influence, with a blood alcohol level of .04 or higher, refusing a blood/breath test, or violating an out-of-service order.
• Injuring a person while racing - felony.
• Failure to stop at the scene of a crash where there is injury, death, or property damage of $1000 or more.
• Emergency vehicle violation - death.
• Vehicular assault or willful stopping, impeding, or damaging a vehicle.
• Blocking access to the service facility.
• Attempting to elude police.
• Operating an unsafe vehicle.
• Vulnerable Road User – Death.
• Must not have any of the following violations within the last 3 years:
• Passing a stopped school bus.
• Careless driving.
• Three or more minor moving violations within the last three years.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Assist the administration in implementing all policies and/or rules governing student life and conduct, and for the classroom, develop reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedures and maintain order in the classroom in a fair and just manner.
• Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulations.
• Attend and participate in Community School Committee and various Advisory Committee meetings.
