Job description

Position

Math Teacher

Salary: $55,000 per annum. Location: 1040 Nicholls St, Reading, PA. Full‑time. DailyPay available.

Responsibilities
  • Provide instruction based on approved curriculum.
  • Develop and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans to meet individual student needs.
  • Evaluate pupils’ academic and social growth, keep appropriate records, and prepare progress notes.
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians by means of conferences, notes, phone calls, e‑mail, and newsletters.
  • Establish and maintain standards of pupil behavior to achieve an effective learning atmosphere.
  • Identify pupil needs, make appropriate referrals, and participate in developing strategies for individual education plans.
  • Instruct pupils in citizenship and basic subject matter specified in state law and administrative regulations and procedures of the school.
  • Plan and coordinate work of paraprofessionals and volunteers in the classroom and on educational trips.
  • Create a functional and organized environment for learning.
  • Utilize and implement behavior management, communication, and conflict resolution techniques, progressive crisis intervention techniques, and perform safety crisis management when required.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • PA Teaching Certification (Public School or Private Academic School) with Mathematics Instructional Certification.
  • Experience using effective behavior management techniques in relating to children to encourage participation and positive relationships and demonstrates enthusiasm in lessons.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
Schedule

Full‑time.

Physical Requirements
  • Stand, walk, run, use hands and reach with hands and arms.
  • Have the physical ability to restrain a resident while utilizing the tenets of Safe Crisis Management training.
  • Required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk, hear, see, taste, and smell.
