Job summary

NurturEd Early Learning Center is seeking a Teacher's Assistant to join our Rhode Island team. You will work with the Lead Teacher to create a safe, nurturing environment, engage children in reading and play, and support families in child development.

You will use an electronic daily tracking app and assist with curriculum implementation and quality initiatives. We welcome candidates with a warm demeanor and reliable attendance, ready to learn and grow in a supportive, collaborative setting

Responsibilities

• Assist Lead Teacher to maintain a safe, healthy, structured and nurturing environment.

• Utilize an electronic daily tracking app to monitor progress.
• Support accreditation processes and quality initiatives.
• Implement curriculum and assessments.

Our learning centers are open between the hours of 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., Monday - Friday. We have locations across Rhode Island. We have full time positions or part time positions (with flexible schedules available). Benefits vary for full time / part time positions.

Requirements

We are willing to train the right person! Our ideal candidate will have experience working with children.

We are looking for someone who has the following skills:

Education Requirements

• High school diploma (or equivalent) or higher.
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Able to engage in physical exercise with children (walking, running, crawling, bending, twisting).
• Visual and hearing acuity.
• Able to lift up to 40 pounds.

Other Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older (Teen Aide positions are available for applicants 16-18 years of age).
• Able to read, write, speak and understand English, bilingual encouraged to apply.
• Must pass national criminal background/fingerprints check.
• Must pass Department of Children, Youth and Families (DCYF) Clearance Request (CPS).
