Job summary

NurturEd Early Learning Center in Rhode Island is seeking a Teacher's Assistant to support the Lead Teacher in a safe, nurturing, and structured environment for young learners.

You will engage children in literacy and play, help implement the curriculum, document daily activities with our tracking app, and collaborate with families to support each child's growth. We offer full-time and part-time roles with flexible schedules.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in an educational setting.
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
• Must pass background check (national) and DCYF clearance.
• Strong communication with families and caregivers.

Responsibilities

• Assist Lead Teacher to create a safe, healthy, structured, and nurturing environment.
• Engage children in reading, playing, and learning activities.
• Assist with implementing curriculum and assessments.
• Utilize electronic daily tracking app to document activities.
• Support accreditation processes and quality initiatives.

A typical day for a Teacher's Assistant will include:

• Working alongside the Lead Teacher to create a safe, healthy, structured, and nurturing environment.
• Engaging with children in learning - reading, playing, and having fun!
• Inspiring children to be lifelong learners.
• Partnering with families to nurture and care for their children.
• Showcasing your tech savvy skills by using an electronic daily tracking app.
• Assisting with the accreditation process as well as other quality initiatives.
• Implementing curriculum and assessments.

Our learning centers are open between the hours of 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., Monday - Friday. We have locations across Rhode Island. We have full time positions or part time positions (with flexible schedules available). Benefits vary for full time / part time positions.

Requirements

We are willing to train the right person! Our ideal candidate will have experience working with children.

Education Requirements

• High school diploma (or equivalent) or higher.
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Able to engage in physical exercise with children (walking, running, crawling, bending, twisting).
• Visual and hearing acuity.
• Able to lift up to 40 pounds.

Other Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older (Teen Aide positions are available for applicants 16-18 years of age).
• Able to read, write, speak and understand English, bilingual encouraged to apply.
• Must pass national criminal background/fingerprints check.
• Must pass Department of Children, Youth and Families (DCYF) Clearance Request (CPS).
