Job summary

TES Staffing is seeking a Teacher’s Aide for a non-profit special education organization in Henrietta, NY. The role supports students with varying abilities, helps develop life skills, and contributes to an inclusive classroom focused on independence and growth.

The position is full-time for a 10-month school year, with a schedule Monday–Friday, 8:15 AM–3:15 PM, and pay rate $17.74–$19.24 per hour. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and a NY driver’s license, and be comfortable

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid New York State driver's license with at least three years of driving history.
• Experience working with children with developmental or intellectual disabilities.
• Ability to push, pull, or lift up to 50 pounds.
• Willingness to assist students with personal care and daily living activities.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with daily classroom activities and individualized learning objectives.
• Support lead teachers with classroom activities, providing individual or small-group assistance.
• Use positive behavior strategies and individualized interventions to support student behavior and classroom management.
• Participate in physical education and aquatic programs alongside students.
• Help students with personal hygiene and daily living needs while maintaining their dignity and comfort.
• Assist students with safely boarding and exiting school buses.
• Help with classroom organization, recordkeeping, clerical tasks, and general housekeeping as needed.
