Job Title: Response to Intervention (RTI) Teacher

Primary Purpose
Assist in the promotion and improvement of the RTI model by fostering a positive school/organizational climate where all children can learn and become successful.
Prerequisites
- Texas Valid Teaching Certificate; and
Special Knowledge/Skills
- Working knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Ability to evaluate instructional program and teaching effectiveness
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior in person
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Experience
- Three (3) years of classroom teaching experience.
Major Responsibilities And Duties
- Dedicate approximately 30-50% of the instructional day to work with small groups of students who require intervention.
- Assist teachers orchestrate the daily instruction, analyze school level data and use data from student performance to define goals for individual students.
- Meet with teachers to assist in the planning for differentiated instruction that meet the individual needs of students in need of interventions.
- Group students with similar instructional needs.
- Assist in the compilation and analysis of data, utilize information to modify instruction, and communicate progress to stakeholders.
- Communicate verbally and in writing in a professional manner.
- Actively pursue professional growth through professional development and other sources.
- Work cooperatively with staff and provide feedback to program coordinator, supervisors, building Administrators, and school staff.
- Communicate regularly with parents and students
- Build a positive relationship with both parents and students.

Physical & Environmental Factors
- Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals
- Posture: Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting
- Motion: Repetitive hand motions including frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching
- Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds)
- Environment: May work prolonged or irregular hours
- Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress
