Qualifications
  • License and Certification: Valid Georgia driver's license preferred. Meets Georgia certification requirements in appropriate field of education.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in applicable field of education from a PSC-approved college or university.
  • Experience: Previous teaching and preschool teaching experience preferred.
  • Skills: Knowledge of IDEA due process, preschool curriculum, IEPs, and effective communication skills.
Primary Responsibilities
  1. Plan and provide developmentally appropriate instruction to preschool children with special needs.
  2. Participate in decision-making for students eligible for preschool special education services.
  3. Complete all due process documentation and ensure compliance with timelines.
  4. Evaluate student progress and monitor IEP goals.
  5. Oversee and complete DOE data entry and exit procedures.
  6. Communicate effectively with families and team members.
  7. Collect and interpret data for students with special needs.
  8. Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands

Requires sitting, talking, hearing, standing, walking, and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds. Must have vision abilities including close, distance, color, and depth perception.
