Job summary

Apple Montessori Schools in Hoboken, NJ is seeking a dedicated Teacher to guide young learners in a modern Montessori environment. You will plan weekly lessons, align objectives with standards, assess student progress, and engage families throughout the year.

The role requires strong communication, organizational skills, and the ability to adapt in a growing program. Responsibilities include supervising a teacher assistant, coordinating with parents, and contributing to ongoing curriculum

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required (Elementary Education preferred).
• Montessori experience preferred.
• NAMC certification preferred or willing to obtain within first year of employment.
• Ability to communicate with parents effectively and professionally.
• Experience with lesson planning and development.
• Ability to multitask in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Formalize lesson plans on a weekly basis for upcoming instructional period.
• Relate instructional objectives to curriculum standards and demonstrate effective decision-making.
• Determine students' performance using informal and formal assessments and observations.
• Plan and implement activities to meet children's physical, emotional, intellectual, and social needs.
• Use varied instructional materials and hands-on activities to support learning.
• Maintains accurate and timely educational assessments and progress notes for all assigned students.
• Train and supervise a teacher assistant within the classroom.
• Meet with parents throughout the year to discuss the child's progress.
• Attend Open House, Back to School Night, Teacher In-Service days and weekly staff meetings.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education

Montessori Experience

NAMC certification or willingness to obtain

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am - 4:00 pm

Responsibilities

• Use a variety of instructional materials, including contextual, supplemental, teacher-constructed, and teaching bulletin boards, as well as audio-visual aids, hands-on activities, discovery-based learning, and activity-based learning.
• Maintains accurate and timely educational assessments and progress notes for all assigned students.
• Train and supervise a teacher assistant within the classroom.
• Meet with parents throughout the year to discuss the child's progress.
• Attends Open House, Back to School Night, Teacher In-Service days, and all weekly staff meetings and weekly teacher curriculum meetings

Requirements

Final compensation is determined based on a combination of factors, including years of experience in a similar role, relevant certifications and/or credentials, and the size and/or geographic location of the school.

$40,000 - $48,000 / year
