ProCare Therapy is seeking an itinerant Teacher of the Visually Impaired to support a single student in Evanston, IL. This part-time contract role covers roughly 20 hours per week, August through June, with compensation at $37-$43 per hour based on experience.

You'll travel between locations to provide one-on-one instruction and develop accessible materials (braille/large print). Collaborate with teachers and specialists to meet IEP goals and ensure access to the curriculum.

Qualifications

  • TVI certification/licensure required.
  • Experience creating and implementing IEPs for visually impaired students.
  • Strong communication and collaboration with parents, staff, and support services.
  • Ability to adapt instructional methods to meet individual needs.
  • Experience with assistive technology and access tools is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct instruction and tailored support to a single student with significant visual needs, ensuring access to the general curriculum.
  • Develop and modify educational materials utilizing braille, large print, or other accessible formats.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and related service providers to facilitate an inclusive learning experience.
  • Advocate for the student and guide families on accommodations and resources.
  • Maintain documentation and progress reports aligned with IEP goals and district guidelines.
  • Travel between locations to deliver itinerant services.
