Covington Independent Public Schools in California seeks a Districtwide Teacher of the Visually Impaired to provide specialized instruction aligned with IEP goals and district requirements.
You will coordinate services, materials, and assistive technology to maximize participation in classrooms and collaborate with regular and special education staff. Attending IEP meetings and conducting functional vision assessments are key parts of the role.
POSITION: Districtwide Teacher of the Visually Impaired
QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree; Certificate for Teacher of the Visually Impaired under the Educational Professional Standards Board.
REPORTS TO: Director of Special Education Programs
JOB GOAL: To provide students with special education services necessary for them to benefit from special education and within the guidelines, legal obligations, standards, policies and procedures of the federal, state and local educational agencies.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Term contract with specified beginning and ending dates as indicated in letter of employment. Hours are as designated by the Director of Special Education.
EVALUATION: Evaluation of the performance of this job will be conducted according to the procedures developed for all district personnel.
