Cleary School for the Deaf is seeking a teacher for a leave replacement position in Islip Terrace, NY. The role focuses on educating deaf and hard-of-hearing students within a Special Education framework.

The candidate will identify student needs, set learning goals, and plan lessons tailored to each learner's abilities. Certification in Deaf/HOH or Special Education is required, with ASL knowledge preferred.

General Job Description

Responsibilities include identifying the needs of students and setting learning goals to ensure each student's activities and lessons are planned according to their abilities.

Minimum Qualifications

• NY State Teacher of the Deaf or Special Education Certification.
• Experience working with special needs students, particularly deaf and hard of hearing students.
• Knowledge of ASL is preferred.
