Job summary

International School of Texas seeks a part-time Teacher of Middle School Mathematics or Mathematics Support to join our Secondary Division.

The position focuses on teaching IB MYP mathematics, collaborating with a team of educators, and engaging students through inquiry-based learning at IST's new Bee Cave campus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a related field.
• Master’s Degree preferred and increased stipend rewarded.
• Two or more years of Middle School teaching experience.
• Pedagogical best practices integrated with SEL/Mindfulness.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• International Baccalaureate experience is preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare highly engaging, rigorous Mathematics lessons.
• Document and tailor instructional practices to meet student needs.
• Lead extracurricular activities (soccer, art clubs, robotics, coding, cross-country).
• Promote IST’s commitment to global citizenship and lifelong learning.

This position’s primary responsibility will be to teach students in the International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Program (MYP). This position will join a team of highly qualified, motivated, and professional educators in our Secondary Division.

IST students become lifelong learners as they progress through the MYP, learning in a collaborative and inquiry‑based environment. The primary responsibilities of this position include the planning and preparation of highly engaging, rigorous Mathematics lessons while documenting and tailoring instructional practices to best meet the needs of the students. Preference will be given to teachers with experience teaching in an International Baccalaureate School.

Requirements and Qualifications

The successful candidate must have experience teaching middle school. The successful candidate should have a strong belief in progressive education and have experience integrating curriculum with authentic, inquiry‑based or project‑based learning. This position requires an openness to new technology platforms and their integration into all aspects of the classroom.

In addition to teaching responsibilities, IST faculty have the opportunity to lead a variety of extracurricular and club activities that enrich the IST experience.
