Summary:

The Multi-Classroom Leader 2 (MCL2) is expected to coach 7-10 teachers and teach students through various models. The MCL2 leads a team of teachers and support staff, setting roles and goals, organizing instruction, and reviewing student progress to ensure high-quality learning. They work collaboratively, providing feedback and developing team members, while balancing teaching and coaching responsibilities.

Essential Duties:

Planning And Preparation

  • Set high, measurable expectations for all students.
  • Create instructional tools and materials for team use.
  • Clarify content and teaching methods.
  • Plan lessons that are aligned, enriched, personalized, and include assessments.

Classroom Environment

  • Hold students accountable for behavior and engagement.
  • Create conducive physical environments.
  • Establish a respectful, enthusiastic culture.

Instruction

  • Hold students to ambitious standards.
  • Address social, emotional, behavioral, and organizational needs.
  • Use influence techniques to engage students.
  • Incorporate questioning, discussion, and personalized instruction.
  • Use assessment data to inform instruction.
  • Communicate student progress.

Professional Responsibilities

  • Maintain high growth with assigned students.
  • Observe and provide feedback to team teachers.
  • Spend at least 75% of instructional time coaching.
  • Seek feedback for professional growth.
  • Lead communication with families.
  • Allocate instructional and administrative duties among team members.
  • Model instructional tasks and develop team effectiveness.
  • Evaluate team members for roles and advancement.
  • Report to the principal on team performance.
  • Participate in professional development.
Education And Experience:

Minimum:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Knowledge of subject matter
  • At least 4 years of teaching with 3 years of high-progress student outcomes
  • Leadership/coaching experience for 1-2 years
  • Proficiency in digital learning tools

Licensing / Certification:

NC Professional Educators License in relevant subject and grade level.
