Primary Function:

To work with parents/guardians to develop and provide an appropriate special education program to eligible exceptional learners.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required. If seeking alternative certification, must have passed or be exempt from GACE Basic Skills Test and GACE Special Education General Curriculum Content Test or Adaptive Content Test.
  • Valid Georgia Teaching Certificate required.
  • No prior experience necessary.

Essential Duties include:

  • Developing, implementing, and reviewing Individual Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Collaborating with parents/guardians and general education teachers.
  • Maintaining accurate paperwork and adhering to timelines.
  • Delivering instruction according to IEPs and research-based practices.
  • Using data-driven behavior management strategies.
  • Facilitating effective use of technology and assessments.

Note: The position is open to all levels and is a full-time, entry-level role. Certification in Special Education is required.
