Job summary

Natick Public Schools seeks a dedicated Math Teacher for Natick High School. This 1.0 FTE position focuses on delivering high-quality instruction to a diverse student body with a strong emphasis on equity, inclusion, and student engagement.

The successful candidate will hold a Massachusetts DESE certification for 9-12 mathematics, possess strong content knowledge, and employ student-centered pedagogy and UDL practices to support all learners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; master's preferred.
• Massachusetts DESE certification for grades 9-12 in Mathematics; SEI endorsement preferred.
• Strong knowledge of standards-based math instruction and inclusive practices.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging high school math instruction to Natick High School students.
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learner needs and IEPs.
• Assess student progress and provide timely feedback to students and families.
• Collaborate with colleagues to implement district math standards and SEL supports.
• Integrate UDL and technology to enhance access to rigorous mathematics.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

Bachelor's Degree

Masters degree preferred

Professional Certification:

Massachusetts DESE certification 9-12 in Mathematics

SEI Endorsement

Specialized Knowledge:

Strong foundation in student-centered pedagogy

Knowledge of the developmental needs of adolescents

Strong content-area knowledge

Thorough understanding of theories and teaching methodologies along with a sophisticated understanding of the academic, social, and emotional needs of high school students

Working knowledge the Massachusetts Standards-Based curriculum

Working knowledge of the principles of UDL

Working knowledge of SEL instruction and supports

Thorough understanding of and commitment to the principles and practices of diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice as they relate to student, staff, and community engagement and cultivation

Preferred Experience:

Experience teaching in a diverse public school preferred

Experience working with students with disabilities/special abilities preferred

Experience working with students who are English language learners preferred

Experience with Google Suite (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Classroom, etc.) and PowerSchool preferred, but will train the right candidate.

Skills:

Demonstrated aptitude for work to be performed

Bilingual skills, especially in Spanish and Portuguese, are highly desirable

Candidates must be flexible and collaborative

Candidates must be able to multitask in a fast-paced, supportive environment that nurtures student growth

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
