Pearland ISD is seeking an elementary teacher for Silvercrest Elementary to facilitate learning experiences that foster student growth. The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor's degree, a valid Texas teaching certificate, and have strong organizational and communication skills. Responsibilities include providing engaging learning activities aimed at supporting students' intellectual, emotional, and social development.
Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university. Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for the subject and level assigned. ESL Certification required for all Core Subjects EC-6 and ELAR 7-12.
Knowledge of subjects assigned, general knowledge of curriculum and instruction, ability to instruct students and manage their behavior, strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
At least one year of student teaching or approved internship.
Tools/Equipment Used: Personal computer and peripherals; standard instructional equipment; AED for P.E. teachers.
Posture: Prolonged sitting and standing; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting.
Motion: Frequent walking, repetitive hand motions including keyboarding and mouse use; occasional reaching.
Lifting: Regular light lifting and carrying 15-45 pounds daily.
Environment: Work inside, may work outside; exposure to noise; irregular hours; occasional districtwide travel.
Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions, maintain emotional control under stress.
