Job Description - Teacher Kindergarten - Bilingual in English and Spanish (2025-2026) (25003802)

Job Summary

The Teacher utilizes current strategies and theories to plan, organize, and implement structured lessons to instruct K-12 students.

What you will do
  1. Instruct students in an in-person classroom environment through lectures, discussions, visual aids, instructional strategies, and other effective teaching methods for student comprehension.
  2. Prepare lessons and outlines to use in class that effectively cover the material.
  3. Plan and conduct activities for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and work time that provides students with opportunities to observe, question, and investigate.
  4. Administer various types of assessments to monitor students' comprehension of the material.
  5. Assist students who need extra help with tutoring. Guide and counsel students with adjustment or academic problems or special academic interests.
  6. Collaborate with other teachers and administrators to develop, evaluate, and revise academic programs following approved curricula.
  7. Utilize instructional technology, audio-visual aids, and other equipment and materials to enhance student learning.
  8. Perform administrative duties such as taking attendance, organizing the classroom, and responding to emails and phone calls from parents, school administrators, and staff in a timely manner.
  9. Observe and evaluate students' performance, behavior, social development, and physical health.
  10. Attend faculty meetings, teacher training workshops, and educational conferences to maintain and improve professional competence.
  11. Maintain accurate student records as required by laws, policies, and regulations.
Additional Requirements
  • May require bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish, passing a Spanish language proficiency screener, and attending annual bilingual teacher trainings.
Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in a related field (preferred)
  • Work experience gained through education and certification/license requirements (required)
  • Teaching Certification/License from Tennessee Department of Education with applicable endorsement (required)

Salary

Starting at: $52,048.58. Salaries are determined by education, experience, and other qualifications, and final decisions are made by MNPS. The salary range is based on 201 days and is a guideline. More information can be found here.
