Job summary

Arizona State School for the Deaf and the Blind in Phoenix seeks a Teacher Itinerant Orientation & Mobility to provide instructional services to students with sensory impairments. This limited-time appointment offers a 10-month calendar and a 40-hour workweek at a pay rate of $42,544 to $65,897.

The role requires a degree in Education with sensory impairment coursework, AZ teaching certificate with endorsement (ACVREP for O&M), and FBI/state background checks.

Qualifications

  • College/university degree in Education with coursework specific to sensory impairments.
  • State of Arizona Teaching Certificate with appropriate endorsement (ACVREP certification for O&M).
  • Secondary teaching positions require relevant coursework per Department of Education.

This is a teaching position for Orientation and Mobility in Phoenix, AZ.

Essential Duties
  • Provide quality instruction to students
  • Prepare daily lesson plans
  • Evaluate students' skills to determine the best program of learning
  • Write and implement Individual Education Plans (IEP)
  • All other duties as assigned

Special Conditions/Requirements
  • College/University Degree in Education with coursework specific to sensory impairments

  • Secondary teaching positions must possess the necessary coursework as required by the Department of Education.
  • Must be able to pass FBI and State background check
