Job description

SAR Academy, a Modern Orthodox, co-educational day school in Riverdale, NY, is now accepting resumes for Infant and Toddler Teachers and Assistant Teachers for the 2024-2025 school year in the Infant Toddler Center (8 weeks-24 months). We are seeking passionate infant and toddler educators to enhance the social, emotional, linguistic, cognitive, and physical development of each child. The school offers opportunities for exploration and discovery in a constructivist-based educational environment. Each educator strives to nourish children's innate sense of wonder, curiosity, imagination, and self-esteem.

We are looking for a full-time infant teacher who is passionate about high-quality infant care. We are looking for someone who is committed to being a part of our community and supporting constructivist-based learning for the infants in their care. Our classrooms operate with teaching teams who are invested in working as a classroom community.

Responsibilities:
  1. Guiding infants and toddlers through education/development programs
  2. Designing and providing meaningful experiences that promote growth and development
  3. Responding to each child’s needs efficiently
  4. Displaying a patient and calm personality coupled with a loving approach to every child
  5. Contributing positively to the behavior and social interaction of the children
  6. Building secure relationships with the children
  7. Working closely with the director and department head to ensure that guidelines are adhered to
  8. Keeping a log through our app for children's day
Qualifications:
  1. Strong ability to build connections with children and to develop an atmosphere of mutual respect
  2. Problem-solving and collaborative skills
  3. Understanding of principles of social, emotional, and cognitive development
  4. Creative, flexible, and open-minded approach to teaching and care
  5. Background in Early Childhood current practice
  6. Familiarity with Jewish culture and traditions
  7. Be at least 21 years of age
  8. Hold an associate's degree in early childhood, CDA, BA in an applicable field, or experience and willing to obtain those degrees
$32,000 - $42,000 a year
Salary commensurate with experience.
