Job summary

West Ohio Community Action Partnership is seeking a Teacher/FSW at our Central F location. The position is full-time (40 hours/week) for 9 months per year and involves developing curriculum, planning, and coordinating services for children and families.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, and preferably an AA in Early Childhood Education/Development or a CDA, with enrollment in a degree program to complete within three years. CPR/First Aid certifications are required.

Qualifications

  • AA degree in Early Childhood Education/Development or valid CDA.
  • Must be enrolled in a program leading to an associate or higher degree within three years.
  • Certifications in CPR and First Aid must be maintained.
  • Valid Ohio driver's license and insurance preferred.

Job description

WOCAP, a local non-profit organization, is seeking qualified candidates for a Teacher/FSW at our Central F location. This position is a 40 per week, 9 months a year.

Responsibilities
  • Developing and educating each Child Development Services child to their fullest potential by utilizing the latest curriculum.
  • Making weekly lesson plans and daily planning.
  • Assist the children & families by ensuring coordination, facilitation, identification, enrollment, and provision of individual services in accordance with the Child Development Services Performance Standards, licensing regulations, and WOCAP policies & procedures.
  • Ensure that all children receive required health related services by connecting them to resources, providing follow-up support services, and identifying and removing barriers to needed services. This includes expectations to transport families to appointments, reporting difficulties to supervisors in writing, and ensuring follow-up within 30 days.
  • Delegating and guiding activities of the co-teacher in the classroom.
  • Completing at least two home visits and two parent/teacher conferences per year.
Requirements
  • Must be able to pass drug screen and background check.
  • Candidate must possess High School diploma or GED.
  • Must have an AA degree in Early Childhood Education/Development OR valid CDA AND be enrolled in a program that grants a qualifying associate or higher degree in Early Childhood Education/related field, and the required coursework and experience, to be completed within three years.
  • Certifications in Child Abuse & Neglect, Communicable Disease, CPR, and First Aid must be maintained.
  • Valid Ohio driver's license, current vehicle insurance, and privately-owned vehicle during working hours a plus.
  • Ability to check electronic mail, entering data into program-specific software for required reports, and Internet skills required.
