Job summary

Amergis Healthcare Staffing seeks a Teacher for the Visually Impaired to serve in a school setting in Lancaster, PA. This contract role is full-time, paying $50 per hour and averaging about 35 hours weekly, with emphasis on delivering targeted instructional programs.

Responsibilities include creating engaging activities to support social, intellectual, and emotional growth; maintaining compliance with state requirements; and collaborating with school staff to meet student needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university preferred.
• Valid state teaching certificate as required by state regulations.
• One year experience as a teacher for the visually impaired preferred.
• Current CPR if applicable.
• TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable.
• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation).
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

The Teacher for the Visually Impaired provides students with appropriate learning experiences and activities designed to help them in social, intellectual, and emotional growth. The Teacher for the Visually Impaired organizes and implements an instructional program for visually impaired students.

Enables students to develop competencies and skills to function in a successful and positive manner.

Minimum Requirements:
