Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with plan to obtain EEC Teacher Certification or CDA within 2 years.
• Preferred: CDA or Associate Degree in ECE or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Respond flexibly to changing work assignments.
• Respect and maintain confidentiality.
• Provide appropriate supervision of children for a healthy, safe learning environment.
• Respond to direction from supervisory staff.
• Implement classroom activities.
• Implement positive guidance strategies per Head Start plans and any individual IEP/Head Start ESB Plan.
• Attend required meetings and trainings to support growth.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Act as a mandated reporter.

What will you do?

• Ability to respond with flexibility to changing work assignments
• Respect and maintain confidentiality
• Provide appropriate supervision of children to ensure a healthy, safe and clean learning environment
• Ability to respond to direction from appropriate supervisory staff
• Ability to implement activities in the classroom
• Implement positive guidance strategies consistent with Head Start Behavior Management Plan and practices in conjunction with any outlined in a child’s IEP or Head Start Early Support Behavior Plan
• Attend required meetings and participate in training opportunities to enhance personal and professional growth
• Performs other reasonably related business duties as assigned by immediate supervisor or other management staff
• Acts as a mandated reporter

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BE A HEAD START TEACHER FLOATER?

Minimum: High School Diploma or equivalent, with a professional career development plan to obtain EEC Teacher Certification or CDA Certification within 2 years.

Preferred: CDA, Associates Degree in ECE or equivalent
