Position Details

SouthWest Metro Intermediate District #288 has an immediate part-time opening for a high school FCS/Work Based Learning teacher to teach our Career & Technical/alternative/online programs located at Dean Lakes Education Center in Shakopee, MN.

SouthWest Metro serves students across 11 member districts and 8 associate districts in the southwestern Twin Cities area, offering programs in Special Education, Career and Technical Education, Care & Treatment, Adult Education, and Alternative Education. We aim to empower learners through personalized instruction, resource connection, and a supportive environment.

Job Description

High School FCS/Work Based Learning Teacher, 185 contract days, .75 FTE.

Responsibilities
  1. Educate, plan, and teach two Career & Technical courses: Intro to Education and CDA, including concurrent enrollment at Normandale Community College and CDA certification.
Qualifications
  • Minnesota Teaching License for HS FCS/Work Based Learning (consideration for Out of Field Permissions or Tier 1/Tier 2 License).
  • Experience with multiple instructional designs and differentiated instruction.
  • Strong classroom management skills.
  • Ability to build successful relationships with students, parents, and staff.
  • Effective communication skills and team collaboration ability.
  • Certification to teach Intro to Education college course or a Master’s in Education.
Pay & Benefits

The pay range is $48,076-$99,188 for 1.0 FTE, based on education and experience. A comprehensive benefits package is included:
