Under the general supervision of the Supervisor of Correctional Education Programs (SCEP) and the direct supervision of the Supervisor of Academic Instruction (SAI), the Developmental Disability Program (DDP) Teacher helps DDP Students committed to state correctional facilities in the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation prepare to become productive and contributing members of society by supporting them in their academic and career and technical education classes and by helping them develop socially acceptable attitudes and interests. DDP Teachers give individual and group instruction, conducts assessment and testing, and participates as a member of an interdisciplinary treatment team.
Individuals who are eligible for a Training and Development assignment may also be considered for this position.

California Medical Facility (CMF), located in a unique spot in Vacaville, CA. Unique as in being surrounded by many areas for family fun, exercise, touristy adventures and more. Approximately 35 miles east of downtown Sacramento, approximately 53 miles west of Pier 39 in San Francisco, and if you want to meet in the middle you can swing by Napa which is approximately 30 miles west. Candidates new to CDCR are required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan Fingerprinting, and Tuberculosis testing prior to appointment followed by department annual Tuberculosis testing/evaluation thereafter.
