Job summary

Sacramento City Unified School District seeks a Transitional Kindergarten (TK) educator qualified to teach TK in California. The role requires credential such as Multiple Subject with TK authorization or approved intern/permit pathways and English Learner Authorization.

• Specialist Instruction Credential in Early Childhood Education (This is different than the Education Specialist Instruction Credential: Early Childhood Special Education)

ANDEducationEducation Code section 48000(g) requires credentialed teachers who are first assigned to a TK classroom after July 1, 2015 to have one of the following by August 1, 2025:

• At least 24 units in early childhood education, or childhood development, or a combination of both.
• Child Development Teacher Permit issued by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing
• Professional experience in a classroom setting with preschool age children comparable to the 24 units of education described in bullet 1 (comparability determined by the local employing agency)
• 1 year of experience as a Transitional Kindergarten teacher
• 3 years as the teacher of record in an elementary or preschool age setting and 12 ECE and/or CD units
• Please attach a copy of your transcripts with ECE and/or CD units.
• Multiple Subject Teaching Credential - General Subjects (CLAD, LDS, SB 1969 or ELA required)
