Required Degree: Master's degree in education or related field required; Doctoral degree with specialization in elementary education or related field preferred The required degree must be completed by the start date.
Required Experience: Minimum of three years full-time teaching experience; preference given for teaching grades K-6 in public schools Excellent communication skills, particularly in situations that require diplomacy and sensitivity Excellent interpersonal skills
The Elementary Education program at Brigham Young University is part of a university/public school partnership* that has spanned over 40 years and is integral to our teacher preparation program. This faculty member would act as liaison between an assigned public school partnership district(s) and the university elementary education program. They also teach courses, coordinate practicum and student teaching placements, and oversee the clinical supervision of teacher candidates. This position includes, but is not limited to, the following expectations:
Teach undergraduate courses in the Elementary Education program, including, but not limited to:
Total annual teaching load would be approximately 15 credits.
Promote and support the BYU-Public School Partnership and cultivate strong relationships with district partners and university faculty peers.
Other duties as assigned.
Organize and facilitate high-quality placements for teacher candidates.
