Position Overview

Boston Public Schools is seeking an exceptional Early Childhood and Special Education Teacher with an SEI endorsement. Responsibilities
  • Teach Early Childhood General Curriculum in inclusive settings for students with Special Needs and English Language Learners (SEI).
  • Implement district learning goals aligned with state frameworks, including developing access points for student portfolios.
  • Provide small-group instruction to students with moderate to severe cognitive delays, ensuring understanding and progress.
  • Create and follow goals based on student IEPs, providing regular progress reports.
  • Offer necessary accommodations for learning and testing, develop curriculum, and prepare students for assessments like MCAS Alternative.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support student needs and modifications.

Qualifications - Required
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Massachusetts Teaching License in Moderate Disabilities (PK-8), Early Childhood, and either SEI Endorsement or ESL License (PK-6).
  • Meet all licensing and qualification standards, including work authorization in the U.S.
Qualifications - Preferred
  • Experience in urban schools.
  • Degree in Special Education.
  • Fluency in BPS's official languages (Spanish, Creole, Chinese, Vietnamese, Portuguese, Somali).
  • Certification in subject area and additional endorsements (Moderate Disabilities, ESL).
