Job summary

Lawrence Unified School District in Kansas is seeking an Early Childhood Teacher for a full-time, 1.0 FTE position. The role supports 8 hours per day, 188 days per year for new teachers, with starting date immediately.

• Provides for appropriate re-teaching, adaptation, and/or extensions if needed.
• Provides evidence of individual student/adult learning.
• Prepares for assigned classes and can show evidence of such preparation.
• Demonstrates command of the subject matter for which he/she is assigned to teach/coordinate.
• Implements the district's written curriculum and the state and district assessment program.
• Demonstrates commitment to learn and apply new instructional and technology skills as related to the assignment.
• Works with other members of the staff in planning building or district curriculum, instructional goals, objectives, methods, and assessments.
• Attends and participates in assigned staff/team meetings.
• Cooperates with others regarding the selection, use, and sharing of books, equipment, andother instructional materials.
• Takes necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students.
• Develops and maintains a classroom environment conducive to learning.
• Establishes and maintains communications with students, parents, colleagues, and others as related to the assignment.
• Takes necessary and reasonable precautions to protect equipment, materials, and facilities.
• Demonstrates respect and value for all students and staff.
• Maintains professional and ethical standards.
