Qualifications

License and Certification: Meets Georgia certification requirements in appropriate field of education.

Education: Bachelor's degree in applicable field of education from a PSC-approved college or university.

Experience: Previous teaching experience preferred.

Skills: Knowledge of GCPS AKS curriculum, integration techniques, effective instructional practices, technology infusion, communication skills, and human relations skills.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Plan and deliver instruction based on district AKS curriculum, fostering an environment conducive to student development.
2. Demonstrate mastery of subject matter and develop instructional objectives aligned with curriculum.
3. Select and adapt resources to meet curriculum and student needs.
4. Communicate learning objectives and connect content to students' prior knowledge.
5. Organize and present content logically, using research-based strategies.
6. Apply effective instructional strategies, assess student learning, and provide feedback.
7. Assess and monitor student progress, adjusting instruction as needed.
8. Manage classroom environment and behavior to maximize learning.
9. Participate in professional development and act as a role model.
10. Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands

Requires sitting, talking, hearing, standing, walking, and occasional lifting up to 25 pounds. Vision abilities include close, distance, color, and depth perception.
